CIVIL PROCESS
The Carbon County Sheriff's Office is tasked with serving the Civil Process throughout the County of Carbon. The Sheriff's Office can also be deputized to serve civil paperwork by another county if the civil process generates in that county but the plaintiff or defendant resides in Carbon County.
Examples of the Civil Process includes but is not limited to, mortgage foreclosures, various types of writs, divorce proceedings, and civil complaints to name a few.
Filing begins with the Prothonotary or Civil Clerk, which is located in the Carbon County Court House. There are fees associated with filings which can be obtained by reviewing the fee schedule on this page or by contacting the Sheriff's Office.
